Denise Freeland

EcoVoce Founder, Artistic Director, and Soprano

Denise Freeland has extensive experience as vocal performer, voice teacher, music director, and choral director. As a soprano, Ms. Freeland has performed leading opera roles such as Adele in “Die Fledermaus,” Monica in “The Medium,” Rosina in “The Barber of Seville,” and Josephine in “HMS Pinafore,” and toured with an opera educational outreach program.

She has appeared on national television in a CBS broadcast of the Kennedy Center Honors. Her concert highlights include solo performances at the Chautauqua Institution in upstate New York, the Amalfi Coast Music Festival and the Assisi Music Festival in Italy, CAMI Hall and Merkin Hall in New York City, and the National Cathedral in Washington, DC.

Ms. Freeland has served as guest choral clinician for several youth choir festivals. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Oswego State University of New York and an Italian Arts Certificate from the University of Pisa, Italy. She studied opera at the Boston Conservatory of Music. Ms. Freeland is currently a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
